Self-Efficacy of Piano Teachers’ of Specialized Music School

The piano teachers from specialized music schools have been often criticized for a lack of psychological and pedagogical competences, i.e. emotional instability, proneness for engendering fear, inability to motivate pupils etc. This paper deals with the following questions: How do piano teachers self evaluate their professional competences? Will their self-assessment be the same as this of their supervisors? The theoretical framework is provided by the theory of self-efficacy and teacher self-efficacy. Abstract This research evaluates if the voices of children in Romanian preschools are heard and proposes new educational policy in order to train practitioners for preschools. The purpose of the study is to involve practitioners and parents in the Early Years in an experimental training program called: “Voices of children in Romania”. We discovered that according to the traditional attitudes of Romanian parents and practitioners, children's voices are rarely taken into consideration. After the new training program was put into practice in preschools and homes, teachers and parents started to give more attention to children's voices and children's wellbeing was improved.

Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan ryhmähaastatteluaineiston avulla lapsi- ja perhepalveluiden ammattilaisten asiantuntijuutta suhteessa kokemusasiantuntijuuteen. Tutkimuksessa havaittiin kolme erilaista ammatillisen asiantuntijuuden muotoa. Ensimmäinen asiantuntijuuden muoto nimettiin yhteistyöasiantuntijuudeksi, mikä viittaa asiakkaiden kanssa yhteiseen tiedonmuodostukseen ja toimintaan. Exploring the critical incident technique to encourage reflection during project-based learning

Previous research has reported on the challenge of promoting students' generic reflection during authentic project-based courses. This work explores a teaching intervention based on Flanagan's Critical Incident Technique (CIT) during a project-based software development course. The intervention aims at increasing students' awareness of their own learning and at encouraging reflective practice throughout the project.
